Proximity Map
Working with CoreGIS, an analysis of high value geothermal sites and their proximity to major transmission corridors was visually mapped. Follow the link Western United States Geothermal Proximity Map or click on the map below to see a high resolution image.

The data are the known geothermal sources identified in the Western Governors Association Geothermal report from 2006. Sites 10 miles from transmission corridors were highlighted. The map also identifies Climate Protection Cities that are within 50 miles of geothermal sites. For a list of the 952 cities (as of June 2009) please go to the following link.
